Toni Gonzaga, the host of Kapamilya, has announced her departure from the ABS-CBN reality show "Pinoy Big Brother."
Toni Gonzaga was the show's host for 16 years on Pinoy Big Brother. She has won several hosting awards owing to her brilliance and grace in hosting skills, as well as her heart of devotion and passion for her work.
In a piece of shocking news, Toni Gonzaga announced her resignation from the reality show on Wednesday, saying on Instagram, "It has been my greatest honor to host 'PBB' for 16 years."
“From witnessing all my co-hosts transition from housemates to ‘PBB’ hosts are just some of the best moments in my life sa Bahay ni Kuya,” she said.
Bianca Gonzalez, Robi Domingo, Melai Cantiveros, and Kim Chiu are among Gonzaga's current and recent co-hosts who are also former "PBB" housemates.
She also announced that she recommends her friend Bianca Gonzalez to take over as the show's main host.
“Today, I'm stepping down as your main host. I know Bianca and the rest of the hosts will continue the PBB legacy,” she stated.
“It has been my privilege to greet you all with 'Hello Philippines and 'Hello World' for the last 16 years. I will forever cherish the memories, big nights, and moments in my heart. Thank you, Kuya for everything,” she added.
On Wednesday, Toni Gonzaga's announcement photo features her in a red attire, which she wore during one of her "PBB" hosting stints.
Toni is the only original Pinoy Big Brother host that has remained with the show not until today, as of writing.
