The first teaser for the sequel to 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (Part One)' has arrived

The first teaser for Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse (Part One) has been released ahead of its October 7, 2022, theatrical release.

On Saturday, Sony Pictures Animation lifted the curtain on its follow-up to "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," revealing the first footage of the upcoming animated sequel. The teaser concludes with the title "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," as well as the surprise subtitle "Part One," implying that more "Spider-Verse" sequels are on the way.

This first glimpse depicts Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy reuniting after a long separation. We also see Miles fighting Spider-Man 2099 as they fall and traverse through various realms. This is also the first time we've heard that the sequel is a "Part One" of a greater plot.

Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) is at college when the film's teaser footage begins, and Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) jumps from her reality to reunite with him. They journey together to an altogether new universe, as well as a new art style for the film. There's no word on whether Spider-Verse 2 will reunite Spider-Ham (John Mulaney), Spider-Man Noir (Nicolas Cage), Peni Parker (Kimiko Glenn), and Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson), but there is a new face to look forward to Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac).

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Part One is written by Phil Lord, Chris Miller, and Dave Callaham (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings). The movie will be directed by Joaquim Dos Santos (Legend of Korra), Justin K. Thompson (a production designer on the original movie), and Kemp Powers (Soul). Meanwhile, Lord and Miller will return to executive produce the film, as they did with the first.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Part One will be released on October 7, 2022.
