The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) on Sunday, July 11, 2021, said it has recorded 74 volcanic seismic activities in the past 24 hours in Taal Volcano and maintained Alert level 3 amid the crater’s increased unrest.
In its July 11 update, 8:00 am, PHIVOLCS provided information on the recent activities of the volcano with 13 low-frequency volcanic earthquakes and 61 volcanic tremors inside the 1 to 25-minute duration.
Observances on the volcano’s plume emission activity reflected a 1000-meter high steam-rich plume from the main crater.
Additionally, a daily average of 6,488 tons of volcanic sulfur dioxide was documented.
PHIVOLCS reiterates the extreme risks of the current status of the Taal Volcano.
Continuous precautions and measures will be imposed over high-risk areas within the province of Batangas, in particular.
