Recording Academy publicizes nominees for the 64th Grammy Awards

Jon Batiste, the bandleader of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, is the most nominated artist for the 2022 Grammy Awards. Batiste, a jazz keyboardist who is relatively obscure in the United Kingdom, has been nominated for 11 Grammy Awards, including one for the soundtrack of the Pixar film, Soul.

On November 23, 2021, the Grammy nominations for the 2022 awards were announced. The song "Freedom" by Jon Batiste was also nominated for Grammys in Best R&B Album, Record of the Year, and Best Music Video. Doja Cat and H.E.R. had eight nominations, trailed by Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo, each with seven. Only one Grammy nomination each for BTS and Taylor Swift, but at least, Swift can boast that her Evermore was for Album of the Year, which she won last year.

This year, Jay-Z's Grammy nominations were one of the major highlights, making him the most nominated artist in Grammy history. Olivia Rodrigo, Selena Gomez, Saweetie, and more newcomers have joined the Grammy crew. Check out the 2022 Grammy nominees who changed headlines and set a new standard for themselves.

Two additional categories have been introduced to the 64th Grammy Awards in addition to various regulation changes. Subscribers will now vote for the Best Global Music Performance and the Best Urban Music Album, respectively. For the first time, there are 86 Grammy Awards categories.

After all, votes will be cast. An impartial accounting company tallies the results. The candidate with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the two most popular candidates are both victors.

The 64th Grammy Awards will be staged in the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on January 31, 2022.
