Jon Batiste, the bandleader of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, is the most nominated artist for the 2022 Grammy Awards. Batiste, a jazz keyboardist who is relatively obscure in the United Kingdom, has been nominated for 11 Grammy Awards, including one for the soundtrack of the Pixar film, Soul.
On November 23, 2021, the Grammy nominations for the 2022 awards were announced. The song "Freedom" by Jon Batiste was also nominated for Grammys in Best R&B Album, Record of the Year, and Best Music Video. Doja Cat and H.E.R. had eight nominations, trailed by Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo, each with seven. Only one Grammy nomination each for BTS and Taylor Swift, but at least, Swift can boast that her Evermore was for Album of the Year, which she won last year.

After all, votes will be cast. An impartial accounting company tallies the results. The candidate with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the two most popular candidates are both victors.
