Peter Rosalita’s journey in America’s Got Talent (AGT) ended gracefully on a powerful note last September 2, 2021, Thursday.
The 10-year-old Filipino boy’s journey in AGT lasted until the semi-final round last Tuesday, August 31 with his performance of Mariah Carey’s “Without You”.
The results were then released early Thursday morning showing the five chosen contestants advancing to the next round which are: Gina Brillon, Aidan Bryant, Dustin Tavella, Jimmie Herrod, and World Taekwondo. Rosalita had been one of the six contestants that were eliminated: Beyond Belief Dance Company, Korean Soul, Madilyn Bailey, Michael Winslow, Peter Rosalita, and Tory Vagasy.
Nonetheless, Rosalita’s singing prowess still managed to wow judges in the semifinals as he received a standing ovation from all 4 judges: Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel after his performance.
Rosalita had begun his performance with a rocky start, having had to repeat the instrumental background for him to start at the right time in the song. Still, Cowell commends his command of the stage despite the missed beat as Rosalita politely maneuvers the performance as he adjusts to the tempo. Sofi Vergara calls Rosalita “a little boy with his diva voice” and Mandel praises Rosalita as a “professional” for being able to deliver a powerful performance despite the setbacks.
Rosalita had been one of the 11 performers in the semi-finals out of the hundreds that initially auditioned to get into Season 16 of America’s Got Talent. The five chosen contestants will perform on September 14, Tuesday night in American time, and September 15, Wednesday morning PH time.
